I liked this list of lessons learned that I stumbled upon this evening…
Things We’ve Learned…
I especially like “The speaker is responsible for being understood.” Very true, but the opposite of what most people think.
Just got this from a friend….

No words can sum that one up there….
The donated freezer we got in February had a good albiet short life with Barkwheats. It started dripping water on Tuesday, and Wednesday we paid the MacLeod’s service man $65 to tell us the compresser was shot and it would cost $400 to repair. So, we took a forced break from baking and boxing thousands of biscuits to drive to Brewer to buy a new one. We picked out a $399 chest freezer at Lowes, got ready to purchase, but then hesitated when we found out the delivery fee was going to be $70 and that they couldn’t deliver until Saturday (we had $600 worth of frozen eggs at stake). So Chris took some measurements of the freezer and we headed to his dad’s house to see if it would fit in the back of is Subaru Forester. When we got to Bruce’s house, he told us that his sister Ruth (also living in Brewer) had a freezer we could have. Rejoice! So I went to get Indian food for our famished selves while Chris and Bruce picked up the freezer at Ruth’s. Our eggs are happily residing in the new freezer and we are $500 richer! Happy ending to an otherwise chaotic day… We did lose about $100 worth of parsley, which got water-logged and rotten once it defrosted, but we’re thankful we were able to salvage everything else!
Okay, more boxes now… Stop by our booth at the Winter Harbor Lobster Festival this weekend if you are in the Schoodic area! We’ll be inside the gymnasium :)

"vår resa" translates to “our journey” (in my ancestral Swedish) and this site is aimed to be a journal of that journey. Chris and I are in an exciting place right now, defining our future together, breaking away from the mental confines of 9-5 and surging full force into a life more complete and fulfilling.
